Liposuction is a procedure in which fat deposits are surgically removed from a specific area of the body. Common areas of the body that are treated with liposuction include:

- abdomen
- thighs
- knees
- breasts
- buttocks
- arms
- back

It is recommended by doctors that people within their normal weight are the better candidates for a liposuction procedure.

The patient is usually put under with general anesthesia. Incisions are then made in the are to be treated a vacuum-like instrument is inserted that will push and pull the fat until it is lose enough to be suctioned from the body.

After the surgery the patient will wear an elastic garment around the treated area. The surgeon will prescribed antibiotics to prevent infection. The patient may experience minor pain and swelling in the area and the stitches are removed or fall out within ten days of the procedure.

Liposuction Costs

The cost of liposuction of course varies, depending on several factors:

- The number of areas treated
- The type of area treated (body site),
- The amount of fat to be removed from the areas.

Usually, the liposuction cost per body area decreases if more than one body area is treated, because it is easier and more efficient to treat one more area during a procedure

Non-surgical fees may include the pre-op lab tests, supplies, nursing staff, and the a facility fee. It’s recommended that you get a written fee estimate by the surgeon.
Liposuction is not covered by most health plans because it is considered a “cosmetic” procedure. Do note that there are other financial options to cover the expense of the procedure, if needed.

Considering liposuction is a personal choice. Surgeons recommend having realistic expectations of your body and not going overboard with trying to perfect it. If you are interested in mental and physical satisfaction, liposuction may be a appropriate option for you.

This liposuction information was very helpful in getting an overview!!! I can’t wait for more details, and if you could get some information on mizotherapy that would be cool. I have heard it is like lipo only without surgery. Thanks!
